“Natural box” leads to a key research problem is how to use multi-sensory design to achieve students’ “emotional flourishing”, so that people can be more open and active in outdoor learning spaces and feel happy in learning and communication. This new learning space is of great significance to improve people’s mental health promoting students’ imagination and creativity, and cultivating an academic atmosphere. To achieve the design objectives, following issues need to be addressed:
1、How to integrate nature and architecture to achieve the emotional flourishing of participants?
2、How to improve seasonal comfort and outdoor thermal comfort?
3、How to combine Chinese design elements (Kong mingsuo, traditional garden) with Cardiff context, to reflect the cultural exchange and international atmosphere of Cardiff University?
About me
I am Haoyi Jiang, a post-graduate student at Cardiff University. At present, I am paying attention to the connection between nature and architecture, and applying it to my design “natural box”.
I enjoy researching study urban culture. I think the culture of a city is the source of inspiration for design. In my undergraduate life, I operated a studio and studied landscape design, architectural design, interior design, graphic design, website design, etc.
I look forward to working with experts in different professional fields.
